Capitana can be explored through three main themes: marina, coast and culture. Marina di Capitana received the Blue Flag in the marina category in 2026. The marina has around 480 berths for boats ranging from 4 to 27 metres in length; the berths are available for purchase or rent. This gives you a destination whose maritime offerings, beaches and cultural attractions support a variety of travel plans.

Marina and sailing

The Capitana Yacht Club offers sailing courses. There are schools and equipment rental services at Capitana Beach. Those who want to spend their time actively on the water therefore have two different options: the marina with its nautical focus and the beach with its range of activities. You can therefore structure your daily routine around the marina and sailing, or plan the beach as a destination in its own right.

Beach and getting around locally

Capitana Beach can be reached via several turn-offs from Provincial Road 17. This road connection is relevant for orientation if you want the beach to have a fixed place in your itinerary. The nearby area around Capitana also includes Spiaggia di Marina di Capitana, Spiaggia di Is Mortorius and Spiaggia di Cala Regina. Spiaggia di Mari Pintau is located in the area around Capitana.

Archaeology, forts and museums

The area also offers specific cultural attractions away from the beaches. Nuraghe Diana is an archaeological site on the coast associated with the Nuragic culture. The ruins of Nuraxi janna and Fortino Flumini are located in the immediate vicinity of Capitana. The Sa Dom'e Farra Museum and the Necropoli punico-romana di Pill' 'e Matta Museum are located in the area around Capitana. The cultural spectrum therefore ranges from a coastal archaeological site through ruins and a fort to museums.

A maritime event venue

Another maritime connection is the 19th Marina di Capitana Cup: it is scheduled to take place in Marina di Capitana in the Flumini di Quartu district and is organised by Yacht Club Quartu Sant'Elena. As a possible occasion, it adds a planned event to the themes of marina, sailing and coast. Its status as a planned event makes it a time-dependent aspect of your travel planning.

Which location is right for your accommodation?

When choosing a hotel in Capitana, you can base your accommodation decision on your preferred focus: the marina and sailing, the beaches, or the archaeological and museum attractions in the surrounding area. Capitana is therefore particularly interesting for travellers who do not want to limit their days to a single theme, but instead want to combine the coast, maritime offerings and culture in an individual rhythm.
