Frangarto between Castle, Art and Cultural Landscape

Frangarto lies at the foot of Sigmundskron Castle. Above the village, on Mount Mitterberg, stands the castle housing the Messner Mountain Museum MMM Firmian. The parish church of Frangarto is Neo-Gothic and dedicated to Saint Joseph. Its eastern façade features a Marian mosaic dating from 1903. Ansitz Pillhof is also part of the village’s appearance. It is preserved historic architecture dating from the 15th century; today, it houses a wine shop.
