Truden in the Nature Park – Trails, Customs and Mountain Views

From the village center of Trodena, Trail No. 1 leads toward Malga Cislon and the Calcara, which is located approximately halfway along the route. The Truden village walk can also be reached by train to Neumarkt-Tramin, followed by regular bus connections to Truden.

The parish of St. Blaise in Truden looks back on a long history and a living faith. It shapes religious life in the village and regularly invites people to church services and events.

The Monte Corno visitor center in the municipality of Trodena, within the nature park, houses a former mill building that is over 120 years old. Inside is a restored lift mill that is functioning once again. The Calcara near Trodena was used to produce lime from limestone, pointing to another historic craft.

At the bread-baking days in the Trudner Horn Nature Park House, visitors bake typical South Tyrolean bread together in the traditional oven, following traditional methods. They then taste it while it is still warm. The Truden cattle drive is an annual traditional event that reflects the local culture and traditions and remains an important event in the farming year to this day.

The Kneipp facility in Truden has water basins for walking barefoot and is located in a quiet, natural setting. The facility is closed during the winter months. It therefore complements the hiking and cultural themes with a more peaceful way to spend time.

Monte Kalmegg, Monte Tolargo and Monte Corno are peaks in the immediate vicinity of Trodena. Sasso del Gazzo is a peak in the area around Trodena. The wider regional surroundings of Truden also include Castel Firmiano, Latemar Art and Museion as museums. Castello Boymont is another cultural point of interest there as a castle.
