Bassanega between Monte Bestone and Limone
Bassanega lies at 303 metres above sea level on the lower slopes of Monte Bestone. The hamlet belongs to Tremosine sul Garda, and Bassanega is the hamlet of Tremosine sul Garda closest to Limone del Garda. This provides a clear geographical reference for planning your trip: Bassanega combines the mountain setting of Tremosine sul Garda with its proximity to Limone, without losing its own distinct location.
Landscape and views as your first point of reference
At the entrance to Bassanega, there is a viewpoint offering a very wide view of the northern part of the lake. This view is one of the hamlet’s distinctive orientation points and complements its location on the lower slopes of Monte Bestone with an open perspective of the landscape. If you are considering accommodation in Bassanega, the hamlet is therefore particularly well suited as a base for a trip in which landscapes, routes and views play an important role.
On foot, by bike and on the way to Limone
Bassanega is a starting point for various excursions on foot. Two cycling routes also pass through the hamlet: the mountain-bike loop between Limone sul Garda and Passo Tremalzo runs through Bassanega, as does the bike tour along the Strada della Forra. Here you will therefore find different ways of getting around: walks and hikes on foot alongside a mountain-bike loop and a cycling tour along a well-known road.
Chapel, votive shrine and the history of the Strada della Forra
A few metres from Bassanega, on the road to Limone, stands the Tamazzo Chapel. It contains a fresco of the Madonna and Child. Another local landmark is the votive shrine at the junction of Via Bellavista and Via Apollo 11. It was built in 1994 and is dedicated to Madonna di Lourdes. The official inauguration date is also part of the historical context of the bike tour along the Strada della Forra: the road was inaugurated with a grand celebration on 18 May 1913. Around Bassanega, landscapes, small religious monuments and the history of an important route thus come together.
Mobility and trip planning
HelloBus plays a distinct role in connections within the municipality: the service links the activated stops in the Tremosine sul Garda area and also provides a connection to Limone. If you are planning your stay around walks, bike tours and visits to the surrounding area, this connection is one of the practical mobility considerations you can take into account when choosing your location. Tremosine sul Garda lies within Parco Alto Garda bresciano; Bassanega therefore also represents a stay within a larger landscape setting.
Other places in the surrounding area
